What is Suzuki 7-year warranty and how does it work?
Every new Suzuki vehicle offers the assurance of a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty through Suzuki's Service Activated Warranty plan. But what exactly does a Suzuki warranty entail, how does it function, and what does it cover?
Â
Let's start with an overview of the warranty.
A warranty is a contractual term provided by the manufacturer, promising to repair or replace an item within a specified period. When you buy a new Suzuki car, you're assured that an authorized Suzuki repairer, like Browning, will repair your car to the manufacturer's standards for up to seven years from its registration date.
The Service Activated Warranty Plan, introduced in 2023, offers Suzuki customers the ultimate peace of mind. In case of any manufacturer or material defects, your car will be repaired to the highest standard free of charge.
How does the Suzuki Service Activated Warranty function?
When you purchase a new Suzuki car, your coverage begins as soon as you drive away from the dealership. Each new Suzuki vehicle includes an initial New Vehicle Warranty of 3 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
After the initial three years, you can extend your warranty for an additional 4 years or until your car reaches 100,000 miles with the Service Activated Warranty.
After each qualifying annual service at an authorized Suzuki repairer, Suzuki will provide you with a unique code to input on their website. Simply complete the online form, and you'll receive confirmation via email that Suzuki has extended your warranty by an additional 12 months until your car's next scheduled service.
Suzuki will continue to extend your warranty coverage with each annual service, up to a maximum of seven years or 100,000 miles.
The best part? Suzuki's Service Activated Warranty is entirely complimentary. There are no extra costs added to your scheduled annual service for this extended warranty deal!
What about Service Activated Warranty for Used Cars, and is it transferable?
To highlight the enduring reliability and excellence of Suzuki vehicles, pre-owned Suzuki's can also benefit from the Service Activated Warranty, provided they are not more than seven years old from their first registration or have fewer than 100,000 miles on the odometer.
But what if my used Suzuki car doesn't have a complete service history? Even if the previous owner has misplaced the service history booklet or there are gaps in the car's service records, it can still be eligible for Service Activated Warranty scheme!
What's included in Suzuki's New Car Warranty and Service Activated Warranty?
Whether you're behind the wheel of a Swift, Swace, S-Cross, or ACROSS, Suzuki's warranty has got you covered. All factory-fitted electrical and mechanical components are protected against electrical or mechanical failure.
However, certain items are not covered, including filters, fuses, spark plugs, worn or warped clutches, brake shoes, pads, drums, discs, and cables, as well as oil, fluids, coolant, wiper blades and arms, drive belts, pipes and hoses, lamps and bulbs, high-tension leads, wheels and tires, batteries, exhaust systems, and infotainment systems.
Only Suzuki-approved parts or equivalents of the same quality will be covered. The use of non-Suzuki-supplied parts may void warranty claims.
Any defect must be reported immediately to an Authorized Suzuki Dealer or Repairer. Continuing to drive with a known fault for an extended period may invalidate your warranty claim.
What's not covered by Suzuki's New Car Warranty and Service Activated Warranty?
Exceptions to the warranty plan mainly involve damage and defects not caused by the manufacturer.
Suzuki warranty does not cover bodywork repairs, including sheet metal, body panels, bodywork or glass sealants, paintwork, glass and mirrors, upholstery, carpets, interior and exterior trim, channels and guides, locks, hinges, handles, check straps, antenna, and cosmetic items.
Service Activated Warranty excludes injury, failure, loss, or damage from corrosion, frost, salt, hail, windstorms, lightning, tree sap, bird droppings, water ingress, or flooding. It also excludes defects existing at the beginning of the Service Activated Warranty period and vehicles modified from the original manufacturer's specification.
Normal wear and tear, faulty repairs, incorrect servicing, or failure to service the covered vehicle according to the manufacturer's specification will also invalidate warranty claims.
